Business … Missing The Market

Some companies fall short on marketing to “techy” customers. With Internet use at an all time high, more and more users are turning to the Internet to help them select service companies. However a quick search on Google, currently the most popular Internet search engine, reveals that most service businesses are not catering to their online customers. Many search results for keywords return directories and not actual businesses. This leads many of potential customers to give up their search or turn to more traditional resources which are saturated with service industry competition.

When asked why they don’t have a website, many small business owners reply that it is a matter of cost. The cost of having a website, however, is far cheaper than the cost of traditional forms of advertising. A display ad in the yellow pages, for example, can easily cost several thousand dollars, and places the advertisement in the middle of listings from dozens of competing businesses. The design and maintenance of a website, however, costs much less and enables businesses to appear in listings which have little or no competition. Furthermore, using a web site to promote services allows businesses to take advantage of free search engine listings which appeal to potential clients who are already highly interested in the particular service. The resulting increase in business can quickly offset the cost of developing and maintaining a web site.
When service businesses establish an internet presence, they open the door to a large market of customers who are already interested in purchasing the service that the company is offering. Furthermore, the customer is able to visualize the benefits of spending money with that particular company because they can see pictures and samples of the company’s work. By the time the customer picks up the phone to call the service company, they have already sold themselves on the benefits of working with that company, resulting in an easy sell for the service business.
More and more potential customers are looking toward the internet to find the company that they will use. Don’t miss potential customers because your company lacks a top quality web site. Contact us for a free consultation to discuss how your business could benefit from a new Internet presence.
